MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING 

Equip Mental Health First Aiders with skills to spot the signs of mental health issues; have the confidence to connect and have conversations; and guide a person to appropriate help and support.

Delegates will:

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect well-being

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of a range of mental health issues.

  • Confidence to step in, re-assure and support a person in distress using the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan

For those who have trained previously to update skills every 3 years.

  • Mental Health First Aiders and Champions are encouraged to regularly update skills and knowledge in order to perform this vital role confidentially and safely

  • Update Knowledge of Mental Health

  • Refresh and practice the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan

SUICIDE FIRST AID AND UNDERSTANDING SUICIDE PREVENTION

SUICIDE FIRST AID LITE â€“ Virtual Training

Teaching the theory and practice of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting, this programme is delivered over 3 hours as a suicide prevention awareness session. This is a unique learning experience: for anyone who seeks greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide.

The Suicide First Aid Lite (Virtual) course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone with thoughts of suicide stay safe from their thoughts and stay alive.

​​

SFA Lite is comprised of 2 parts, each 90 minutes duration. The programme teaches the skills needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and to pass the person onto a suicide first aider.

SUICIDE FIRST AID THROUGH UNDERSTANDING SUICIDE INTERVENTION

Teaching the theory and practice of suicide intervention skills that can be applied in any professional or personal setting, captured in a one-day event accredited by City and Guilds of London. It is the only accredited course in the UK for anyone who seeks greater understanding and confidence to intervene with people at risk of suicide.


The Suicide First Aid through Understanding Suicide Intervention (SFAUSI) course gives learners the knowledge and tools to understand that suicide is one of the most preventable deaths and some basic skills can help someone stay safe and stay alive.

​

SFAUSI is comprised of 4 parts, each 90 minutes duration. The programme teaches and practices the skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be thinking about suicide and competently intervene to help create suicide- safety as a first aid approach.

​​

Participants will gain 6 NQF credit points at Level 4 by completing a workbook of tasks that are assessed against the set learning outcomes.
